Dear Studebaker Elementary Families,

We are off to a wonderful start! The first two weeks of school have gone very well, and it has been exciting to see our students settling into their classrooms, reconnecting with friends, learning new routines, and beginning a new year of learning. Thank you to our families for your support in helping us start the school year on such a positive note.

One of the most important ways families can support student success is by making regular and on-time attendance a priority. Every day at school provides valuable opportunities for students to learn, participate, collaborate with classmates, and build upon skills taught the previous day. Even a few missed days can make it difficult for students to keep up with instruction. Please help us by ensuring your child attends school every day and arrives on time, unless they are ill or there is an unavoidable circumstance. When school and families work together to support strong attendance, we give our students the best opportunity to succeed.

As we begin each school year, class configurations are determined by our student enrollment and the number of students enrolled at each grade level. Based on our current enrollment, some of our students have been placed in combination classes, where students from two grade levels learn together in one classroom. We understand that families may have questions about combination classes. Please be assured that all students will continue to receive instruction based on the grade-level standards for their assigned grade. Teachers carefully plan and differentiate instruction to ensure students receive appropriate lessons, assignments, assessments, and support aligned with their individual grade level. Combination classes can also provide wonderful opportunities for students to develop independence, leadership, collaboration, and confidence as learners. Our teachers are committed to ensuring that every student is appropriately challenged, supported, and provided with a high-quality educational experience.
